Third Market Information Package: Reservations Indicate Significant Demand Along the Hydrogen Core Network

Following the highly successful launch of the hydrogen capacity reservation phase, the core hydrogen network operators are today releasing a detailed overview of the reserved capacities and providing an update on capacity offerings. This third market information package marks the start of a regular publication schedule.

As of the reporting date of July 23, 2026, feed-in and off-take capacities totaling just under 6 GW had been reserved on a paid basis within the clusters, representing a doubling compared to the last publication on May 13, 2026. For cluster-to-cluster transmission (CÜT), capacities totaling approximately 0.6 GW have been contractually reserved. In addition, requests for an additional 0.5 GW of capacity have been submitted and are currently under review.

The excess demand process developed by the grid operators has proven effective here; it has been successfully used on multiple occasions to meet demand that exceeded the initial capacity supply. The grid operators therefore expressly urge users to continue requesting capacity that exceeds the available supply in the future as well.
