FNB Gas on the Draft Bill to Amend the Offshore Wind Energy Act
FNB Gas welcomes the fact that the draft bill to amend the Offshore Wind Energy Act explicitly addresses, for the first time, offshore hydrogen production, electrolysers, and combined connection concepts involving both electricity and hydrogen infrastructure. This creates important prerequisites for testing offshore H2.
From FNB Gas’s perspective, however, further adjustments are needed to create a reliable and scalable legal framework for the ramp-up of offshore H2. The focus here is on systematically embedding combined connection concepts, establishing a scaling strategy for offshore electrolysis, and taking hydrogen pipelines and cross-border infrastructure into account at an early stage in regional development planning.
