Dr. Thomas Gößmann re-elected as Chairman of the FNB Gas Executive Board

The Association of Gas Transmission System Operators (FNB Gas) has re-elected Dr. Thomas Gößmann, Managing Director of Thyssengas GmbH, as Chairman of the Executive Board for the next two years at its General Meeting.

Ralph Bahke, Managing Director of Ontras Gastransport GmbH, was re-elected as Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board.

Dr. Matthias Jenn, Managing Director of bayernets GmbH, was re-elected as Treasurer.

Frank Heunemann, Managing Director of Nowega GmbH, is stepping down from the Management Board. Dr. Thomas Hüwener, Managing Director of Open Grid Europe GmbH, is taking over from Heunemann, who has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2014 and has now relinquished this position after ten years of service. The new Board of Directors would like to thank him for his commitment during his long tenure.

At the members’ meeting, Dr. Thomas Gößmann emphasized the importance of the hydrogen core network for the transformation of the energy system: “I am delighted that the members of FNB Gas have once again placed their trust in me. The challenges of our time require a determined and future-oriented approach. The energy transition and the decarbonization of the industry are not options, but necessities. With the approval of the hydrogen core network, we have come a big step closer to achieving the climate targets. As a transmission system operator, we have a responsibility to create the infrastructure for the energy supply of tomorrow and at the same time ensure the security of supply of natural gas – the excavators are already rolling.”
