FNB Gas on the EnWG amendment to abolish the gas storage levy

On behalf of its members, FNB Gas has submitted a statement on the “Draft Fourth Act to Amend the Energy Industry Act”.

This draft bill represents an important and correct step towards no longer passing on the costs of filling gas storage facilities from 2022 to the balancing group managers and thus ultimately to the end customers. In our view, it is important that the new regulation for the financing of the market area manager’s gas storage filling measures ensures that the market area manager does not incur any profits or losses at any time in connection with the fulfillment of its tasks to ensure security of supply.

A more detailed examination was not possible due to the short deadline for comments. The statement is therefore subject to a more detailed examination in the subsequent period.
