Overview of the SoutH2 Corridor

Energy security in partnership

The SoutH2Corridor initiative comprises an approx. 3,300 km long hydrogen pipeline connecting North Africa, Italy, Austria and Germany. Under the leadership of the four transmission system operators (SNAM, TAG, GCA and bayernets), who have each submitted applications to the European Commission as PCI projects, competitive renewable hydrogen is to be supplied to European demand clusters. More than 65% of the corridor consists of converted pipelines, with new pipeline sections being built as required. The corridor has trilateral political support and strong interest from companies involved in the production and offtake of hydrogen along the entire corridor. The SoutH2 corridor plays a crucial role in the transportation of imported and domestically produced hydrogen.
