Dual leadership for FNB Gas
FNB Gas strengthens management with Barbara Fischer
Barbara Fischer (45) was today appointed Managing Director alongside Inga Posch by the General Meeting of the Association of Transmission System Operators Gas e.V. (FNB Gas). Ms. Fischer will take office on May 1, 2023.
Barbara Fischer has been head of policy, communications and strategy at FNB Gas since 2019. Previously, she held various management positions in the field of energy policy in Brussels, Paris and Berlin, including Vattenfall Europe, EDF SA and Amprion.
As Managing Director, Barbara Fischer will be responsible for all hydrogen issues of the association. With this step, FNB Gas underlines the importance of a rapid development of a hydrogen infrastructure for the industry as well as for the energy system in Germany as a whole. The function within the dual leadership was newly created. As Managing Director, Inga Posch will continue to be responsible for natural gas issues, including network development planning.
“We are delighted that we have been able to recruit Barbara Fischer, a highly experienced professional and political figure, as our Managing Director. Through her previous work with us in the association, she enjoys high recognition among members and our stakeholders. For FNB Gas, this is an important decision for the coming years and gives the necessary weight to the development of the hydrogen infrastructure. An efficient conversion of the natural gas infrastructure to the transport of hydrogen while continuing to operate the methane network requires an integrated view of both the methane and hydrogen networks. We are taking particular account of this through the dual leadership,” said Dr. Thomas Gößmann, Chairman of the Board of FNB Gas.
