In the Gas Network Development Plan 2015 (Gas NDP 2015) published today, the German transmission system operators specify the measures planned for the conversion from L-gas to H-gas. Accordingly, declining L-gas volumes are increasingly being replaced by H-gas. The transmission system operators are responding to the increased H-gas demand by drawing up the H-gas balance for Germany on an annual basis for the first time in the present NEP Gas 2015 and additionally extending it to the year 2030. The Gas NDP 2015, which has been confirmed by the Federal Network Agency, comprises a total of 71 infrastructure measures with an investment volume of €3.3 billion up to 2025. “The NDP Gas 2015 thus sends a clear signal for the stable expansion of the transmission network to further maintain security of supply,” says Inga Posch, Managing Director of the Association of Transmission System Operators Gas e.V. (FNB Gas). This will add 559 kilometers of high-pressure gas pipelines to the transmission network. Compressor capacity will grow by a further 320 megawatts.
